So, we have come to the last chapter. Perhaps it is one of the most important.
Wedding Celebration Preparation Checklist
For 6-12 months:
- decide on the wedding date, the type of ceremony and submit an application to the registry office (if the registration is not planned in Georgia; in Georgia, the application is submitted either on the day of registration (non-ceremonial ceremony) or several days in advance (ceremonial ceremony) — I talk about the difference in the types of ceremonies in this article );
- decide on a budget (+20% for unforeseen expenses);
- make a guest list.
For 2-3 months:
- hold face-to-face or online meetings with potential wedding contractors (host, photographer, videographer, make-up artist, stylist, decorator, pastry chef, florist, etc.), sign contracts for the provision of their services, make advance payments;
- select wedding looks for the bride and groom;
- buy rings;
- send wedding invitations (you can design an invitation website or order printed materials from a designer);
- come up with small gifts for guests (optional);
- book a restaurant;
- book a hotel room for your wedding night (optional).
In 3-4 weeks:
- order a bouquet;
- hold a rehearsal of the wedding look and a pre-wedding love story (can be done on the same day);
- choreograph a wedding dance;
- clarify the number of guests (who confirmed their presence).
In 5-7 days:
- hold a bachelorette party and a bachelorette party (optional);
- beauty treatments (solarium, hair removal).
In 1-2 days:
- prepare translations of documents of foreign passports and certificates of divorce/death of the spouse (if the marriage is planned in Georgia);
- submit an application for marriage registration (if the marriage is planned in Georgia);
- beauty treatments (manicure, pedicure);
- check if your passports and rings are in place.
The day before:
- pick up a bouquet from the florist;
- confirm appointments with beauty professionals and photographers;
- do not drink a lot of fluids to avoid swelling;
- get some sleep.
*of course, it is not necessary to follow all the above points; focus on your wishes and ideas about your ideal wedding
Example of wedding day timing
8:30 Wake up, shower, light breakfast
10:00-13:00 Bride and groom get ready
13:20-13:50 Travel to the registration point
14:00-14:20 Marriage registration
14:20-17:00 Wedding photo session
17:30-20:00 Restaurant
*remember that this is just an example — one of many possible options, use it as a recommendation
Important!
Time is always short, especially at a wedding. To avoid unnecessary rush and stress, it is worth thinking about the timing in advance. Use the following tips:
- allow 3-4 hours to create your wedding look;
- taking into account traffic jams — at least 30 minutes within the city (the peak of traffic jams occurs between 17:00 and 19:00), if you are planning a trip outside the city — at least 1 hour;
- it makes sense to arrive at the ceremony 10 minutes earlier;
- The gathering of guests should be scheduled approximately 30 minutes before your arrival at the marriage registration ceremony or at the restaurant.
I wish you wonderful photos! :)
